Question

What am I doing wrong and why?

GoKart.java

public class GoKart {
  public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
  private String mColor;
  private int mBarsCount;

  public GoKart(String color) {
    mColor = color;
    mBarsCount = 0;
  }

  public String getColor() {
    return mColor;
  }


  public boolean isBatteryEmpty(){
      return mBarsCount==0; 
  }



  public void charge() {
    while (!isFullyCharged()) {

      mBarsCount++;
    }


  }
}

Almost there. Just a few things:

           public class GoKart {
           public static final int MAX_BARS = 8;
           private String mColor;
           private int mBarsCount;

       public GoKart(String color) {
               mColor = color;
               mBarsCount = 0;
           }

          public String getColor() {
              return mColor;
          }


         public boolean isBatteryEmpty(){
             return mBarsCount==0; 
         }

         //change this back to the way it was where it just assigns MAX_BARS to mBarsCount
         public void charge() {           
           while (!isFullyCharged()) {
               mBarsCount++;
        }
      }

        //declare a method named isFullyCharged that returns a boolean true 
        // if mBarsCount is equal to MAX_BARS

   }
