Gradle build failure.

Gradle build failed with Error:Execution failed for task ':app:compileDebugAidl'. > aidl is missing. on Android Studio version: 1.2.1.1

I also had this error. I updated a couple things in the SDK manager, changed a couple things in the build.gradle file, and restarted AS a bunch of times. Eventually, it work but I have no idea why. I searched on stack overflow and managed to get this answer:

Thanks Mahmoud. finally i got a successful build. i guess there was a problem with the Build tools version which i was using.
