grid.css Failure

I am using the following code. I was able to successfully include the grid.css file to the extent that when I remove the link, I see a clear difference between the old and new site. However, the finished website at the end of the CSS grid introduction is different than what the class shows.

Specifically, the margins do not center the website on the page. The appropriate rows are not statically placed by instead they move up and down and fill gaps in the row above them. The website begins where the left screen border begins and ends at the right whevever the last element will fit.

It's really easy to catch these issues with syntax highlighting, such done with the code above.

The code that is highlighted in invalid, I noted 2 issues:

  • A missing closing angle bracket > on a div tag
  • An unquoted text in an alt attribute inside of an img tag

Hi Jon,

Usually I find this is down to an unclosed tag that things don't look quite as you would expect.

If you do a search for "grid_7" in your code you will see an unclosed tag ( <div class="grid_7" ).

Hope this helps and resolves the issue.

Alan
