guard statement

what would employee look like if we used a guard instead of a if let?

Something like this ...

guard let hourlyEmployee = employee as? HourlyEmployee else { 
    return // or something else
}

hourlyEmployee.payWages(for: 10.0)

But guard-let may not work as nice as if-let in his example, because if the guard-let fails, no other code after the guard-let will execute, whereas in his example, he had more to do with the other employee type even if the first condition failed.
