General Discussion

Has anyone got a job using what's learned here and building their own projects?

I just started to build projects from here, found books to read too and interested to hear what it takes to get a job on front end.

i want to ask this question too.

I've hired people that are treehouse students. That being said, I did not hire them specifically because they were treehouse students. You could learn web development in many different ways. I think that Treehouse offers a very fast, friendly and inexpensive way to learn web development. I think you should know that it's not 100% all inclusive. It provides a great foundation for web development, but does not make you a great programmer. You still need to continue working to build your skills and learn new things. It takes time.

Steve Linn. Is python a useful language? Can i really get a real job from it?

Why don't you work with Node/Express?

I have not personally had any projects that required a python developer. Most of our projects are PHP or Rails/Ruby. This is because the developers I like to work with are seasoned in these languages and know how to accomplish the projects in these languages. Take a look on Indeed and see if there are any companies looking to hire python developers. This may give you an indication of the demand in the marketplace. On a side note: I am learning Python for network security. There is a strong need for python developers in the information security field. However, the other skills, training , and certifications needed to work in information security are vast and frankly, very expensive.

I am kind of agree about what you said ,Steve. I really hope that treehouse won't rasie the price ,specially for the python class.

I got intern and potentially a job.
