Having trouble putting it together...

I have been learning about front-end development for a while now. I'm still having trouble coding from scratch. For instances, I was doing the Student Record Challenge from the Javascript Arrays, Loops, and Objects course, even with understanding the different methods, I was still at a blank when building the challenge Dave gave us.

For being stumped for so long, I finally broke and peeked at the solution to the problem, moving step by step as Dave explained everything. I realize that it was a tough challenge, however I'm frustrated that I just learnt the different types of coding with full understanding what they do but when presented with a problem, I'm just at a complete blank.

Even the easiest challenges on Coderbyte.com are far from easy.

It just takes time and practice. You should also work on your own projects. If you can't figure something out, don't feel bad if you have to look it up. You can't expect yourself to remember every little thing they go over in these videos on 1 or 2 go arounds. If you look the same thing up enough times, soon there will be a point where you won't have to look it up anymore.
