9,436 Pointsheader smaller than body
Hi Newbie here,
So, I am doing responsive web design and testing. when I was working on two column layout display I noticed the 2 column which supposed to merge to one column at smaller screen didn't do as it supposed to then I realised my header is smaller than my body (not sure where I did my code wrong) and thats probably why it doesn't merge to one column on smaller screen. any body could help?

Codin - Codesmite
8,600 PointsOk had a look through and there are some bits that need to be removed and added.
First completely remove the following code under your comment "TWO COLUMN LAYOUT"
#primary {
width: 50%;
float: left;
}
#secondary {
width: 40%;
float: right;
}
and then add:
@media screen and (min-width: 660px) {
#primary {
width: 50%;
float: left;
}
#secondary {
width: 40%;
float: right;
}
}
@media screen and (max-width: 659px) {
#primary {
width: 100%;
float: left;
}
#secondary {
width: 100%;
float: left;
}
}
What this will do is keep your two column layout if the width is 660px or higher and merge them into one column if the width is 659px or less. You can change values as needed.
You are also missing html and head tags from your html markup.
add them like so:
<html>
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<title>Steef Vendy | Web Developer</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/normalize.css">
<link href='https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Cinzel|Open+Sans:700,900,400italic,700italic' rel='stylesheet' type='text/css'>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/main.css">
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/responsive.css">
</head>
and add the html closing tag after the closing body tag
</body>
</html>
Here is a codepen example: http://codepen.io/anon/pen/Lpexae

9,436 PointsIt works! but another problem appears. I added some new Header codes today, the header was working before I applied the codes you suggested, please have a look the header code at the bottom. any idea how to get it works again?

8,600 PointsI added the extra code to my codepen example and it seems to function correctly.
http://codepen.io/anon/pen/ojpZZP
You have an extra bracket at
.profile-photo {
float: left;
margin: 0 5% 80px 0;
}
} // Remove this bracket
This is causing the next section of your CSS not to function :)
