hello guys , stuck on this challenge ,

I don’t know what I am missing , also please advise on how to read more about these operations because I am not really getting the point of it .

    def __init__(self, value):
        self.value = str(value)

    def __str__(self):
         return self.value

    def __int__(self):
        return int(self.value)

    def __float__(self):
        return float(self.value)

    def __add__(self, other):
        if '.' in self.value:

In task 1 we just returned the result of multiplying self.value * other, but never actually updated self.value. In task 2 we're actually updating the value of self.value. So we need to:

  1. Convert self.value to an int
  2. Multiply self.value by other
  3. Convert result to str and assign the result to self.value

    self.value = str(int(self.value) * other)
    return self.value

You're pretty close, you want to return int(self.value) * other and not int(self) * other.

def __mul__(self, other):
    return int(self.value) * other

def __rmul__(self, other):
    return int(self.value) * other
