Java Java Basics Getting Started with Java Strings, Variables, and Formatting

Hello I put %s and the correct code but it isnt working

e

Name.java
// I have setup a java.io.Console object for you named console
String firstName = "Elias";
console.printf("%s can code in Java!, firstName");

Hello Elias!

The problem lies in your quotation marks. Below is the fixed version.

          // I have setup a java.io.Console object for you named console
         String firstName = "Elias";
         console.printf("%s can code in Java!", firstName); //Quotation mark moved from firstName" to Java!"

As you can see, the quotation mark is now moved to the end of the printed text. Remember, you cannot concatenate the string "firstName" without proper quotation. Always specify what you want to print out inside quotation marks (" ") and proceed with adding your string after you close the printed text.

Hope it helped!
