Challenge Task 4 of 4

We want to add an exception for <a> tags that are in the <div> with a class of .footer: those links should be purple. Use the post-selector ampersand to achieve this.

There's a little bit of code overkill in your attempt but you're almost there.

It's asking for an exception for the .footer class that's inside an anchor but you've already got one there in your SCSS, so...

p {
   a {
    color: red;
   }

   > a {
     color: blue;
      &:hover {
      opacity: 0.5;

   }
    div.footer & {
         color:purple;
     }
   }

}

is all you need. :-)

Hope this helps

hey, with your code you're actually pretty close to the right answer, just 2 minor issues and you'll be good to go:

1) you're duplicating the first rule at the bottom and then extend it, you only should have one instance at the top with the full code.

2) your second code block - which correctly uses the post-selector ampersand is missing a closing bracket. if you're going to count you'll see that there are 3 opening brackets but only 2 closing one's. if you add that in the code will be fine.

here's the full code:

p {
  a {
    color:red;
      div.footer & {
         color:purple;
       }
    }
  }

p {
  >a{
  color:blue;
    &:hover{
      opacity:0.5;
    }
  }
}
