<li> <a href="img/number01.jpg"> <img src="img/number01.jpg"/> </a> </li>

you need to use <img src=""/> to load the image. the <a></a> tag just make the image clickable

You forgot to close the (a) tags

exemple: use the closing tag </a> after the opening tag <a>

You need the images, not just the links.

  <li>
    <a href="img/numbers-01.jpg">
      <img src="img/numbers-01.jpg" alt="Alt Text Goes Here">
    </a>
  </li>

none of these answers have worked. im not actually supposed to have real images i'm linking to right? this is just a challenge where I need to know the right code right?

Are you having trouble with part one of the challenge, or part two?

part 2

In the above posted code, you are adding links. In the second part of the challenge you must add images with no alt text and not linked to anything. To add an image, use the following syntax:

<img src="some/file/path.jpg" alt="">
