what's the problem with my code?

def even_odd(number):
    for number in even_odd:
        if number % 2 == 0:
            return True
        else:
            return False
even_odd = 2

Write a function named even_odd that takes a single argument, a number not a list of numbers so no need to use for each loop here.

def even_odd(number):
      if number % 2 == 0:
           return True
       else:
            return False
