Help me with transition

How can i make the search icon, if you hover it, be delay? ANd how can i show white background imediatelly after i hover, but then have the effect i have now while hovering displaying black.

I'm not sure if I understand your question correctly but could it be that you're looking for the transition-delay property? Like the name already says you can delay transitions with it and that might be what you're looking for. You can read more about the property here. I hope that helps!
