5,538 PointsHelp please with images not displaying.
I had an issue earlier where I accidentally deleted the project files and had to download and upload files to workspaces. Now, my images in the project will not display in my browser. they show as "?" and when I click them i get an error of "404" something or another. I've looked at all my code and made sure it was the same as Nick Pettit's on the lectures, and it's identical. The images were there before.
Help please. RS

13,297 PointsA 404 is a "not found" error. Did you possibly delete your image files?

5,538 PointsI added all the image files back to the project and made sure the names are correct, etc.. and nothing. I can browse other websites with no issues...

5,538 PointsNo dice. I cleared my cache to no success. I'm running a macbook pro with safari, never had an issue like this before, but I'm pretty new to this, so may be operator error...

33,856 PointsHave you tried the project locally on your MacBook? It might help us if you could zip the entire project to Dropbox or something and link it to this thread.

13,297 PointsI haven't used the workspace thing yet either. If you let me know which course I'll try downloading, deleting and seeing if it works on mine.

5,538 PointsI'm on #8 of how to create a website called responsive web design and testing, but the images are covered in #3 creating html concepts.

33,856 PointsI've tried to launch a workspace for that lesson and it won't load for me. I'd recommend downloading the project files and working locally, or possibly contact support about the issue.

13,297 PointsDustin, I'm able to launch it and have no issues. Maybe our systems are different though... I'm using Windows 8 and Chrome.

33,856 PointsThis is what I'm seeing on a mac.

13,297 PointsSorry I'm not a mac guy... It loads fine for me on windows. Maybe this is something for support?

13,297 PointsI'm not having luck re-creating your error.
If you download the most recent .zip of the course and create a new workspace I'd imagine it would work. It's possible that the workspace could cache your old files if you keep the same name so try naming it something different.
WIthout looking at your html it's going to be hard to pinpoint the problem.
Is it possible the folder name "img" got renamed or move? Or maybe the path to it in your markup has changed?
Ramon Salinas
5,538 PointsOk, see if this makes sense, basically copied and pasted. #1 is the web page, #2 is the html , and #3 is css . The double spaces btwn the paragraphs are where the images would be instead of the "?" that appers.

5,538 PointsThanks guys, I emailed support and hopefully I hear back from them tomorrow.
Ramon Salinas
5,538 Pointslooks like the html did not copy/paste. oh well will wait for support.
Ramon Salinas
5,538 PointsTurns out that when I uploaded the image files again after accidentally deleting them, I made a folder and called it "IMAGES", and in my code the images are called "IMG", that's why they're not pointing to each other. Well, good lesson learned for me!!!
jeremywhiteford3
13,297 PointsHaha we all make mistakes like that. I've been a front end developer for close to 6 years and yesterday it took me an hour to find my issues were all caused by a single typo. :p
