In the 'numbers.js' file create a variable "a" and assign the whole number 42 to it. here is my code not sure what I'm doing wrong? y = 42 +,

all you have to do is create a variable (var) then name it (a) and set it equal to 42.

Below will work:

```javascript
        var a = 42;
        ```

Well, the syntax should be the following if you want to assign a value to a variable: var y = 42;

If you want to add some values to y ( assuming y was declared before) then you can use: y+=42;
