Help with CSS Transition

I am trying to get something on my website to look like a transition on http://symbolset.com/ . If you go to that website, the very bottom is a button that says shop icons and when you hover over it a heart jumps up.

On www.justinlicata.com if you look toward the bottom it says send me an email with a paper airplane...if you hover over the paper airplane I have a background-color with a wider width and height over the link of a darker grey. I want to make it like the one on symbolset.com...obviously without the heart :). any help would be grreated appreciate..

Also - I would love to get feedback and advice on how to better the justinlicata.com site...literally started two days ago so go easy on me I havent had much time but any suggestions would be appreciated!!

Hey Justin! So, I just spent the last 15 minutes trying to explain this in this whitespace-----v

But, then I remembered that the God of CSS did a screencast about this very subject and so I rolled back through his catalogue and found the link.

That is a video of not just how to make the box slide up, but also how to do a cool little wiggle effect (which can give you other ideas about how to do other neat little things with CSS animations.)
