Help with HTML and CSS for my first website

Hello,

I have been banging my head against the wall trying to figure out this CSS/HTML issue to no avail.

on my website www.gavynnwells.com (created during the course how to make a website by Nick Pettit), I have attempted to add a border-top to the footer similar to the border-bottom on the header. However, I am having the following issues:

  • The border is centered on the page and does not span the entire width of the browser
  • I am unable to add space between the content from the section above

I have tried to amend the code in many different ways but cannot seem to get the desired result. It seems like a simple problem to fix and I'd appreciate some insight!

I believe the issue is that your footer tag is currently nestled within the wrapper and the section tags.

Awesome! That worked as far as getting the border-top to span across the entire width.

I am however still having a hard time creating the margin-top similar to the way it is on the header (as a margin-bottom). Any idea why?

Also it appears that the responsive attributes are not being applied to that border-top when I shrink the browser or look at it on a mobile device.
