Hi guys i have made a site live demo available at www.homecook-stirling.co.uk i have also put the code into code pen link at http://cdpn.io/qEopu
So for my Flexislider i have some Javascript that's in the head section i am sure i heard or saw there was better ways of dealing with that? its just Javascript i have not learned yet so i thought would post here for guidance.
Also i am not the greatest at graphics and just starting to learn gimp and illustrator and Photoshop, i lack artistic approach how to make them more appealing?
And i was also hoping for some feedback on the site overall or ideas for improvement? i do plan to add more food photos and add some image sprites to the icons to make them change color or something.
Thanks in advance scott

3,981 PointsI think it looks great so far.
Maybe think about making all the photos in the slider the same size? That way your page doesn't move up and down as they change.
The store front looks like it has some great color to it, maybe think about incorporating the red, yellow and I think Blue that the sign has.
I think in the info section you should make all the icons the same color.
There are many places you can go online and look for inspiration for your project. speckyboy.com sometimes has articles to inspire your design.
Good luck!

9,995 PointsCongrats - it takes a lot to get a site up!
Just a couple of things:
The circle with STOP! is distracting - what does it mean?
I would take out "Opening times" it's redundant.
Also "click on above icons..." in my opinion is not needed - everyone knows them ;)
Local Links - the red is the brightest color on your site. Perhaps tone it down.
Craft your copy. There are run on sentences. Especially in "Likes Dislikes".
Maybe look at some stock photos for food and presentation.

Now I feel like Chinese Food! Gotta run :)

26,869 PointsHi thanks for your feedback so far and and your suggestions definatly taken them onboard, so easy to miss simple little things.
I have been taking pictures with my new camera hoping to get them loaded up soon but resizing to same size was deffo on my agenda.
And i will get around to those others changes, soon as they were poibted out it made sense.
I really appreciate feedback so far its a guage to see how much a user or myself at this moment picks up from a course
