Help with Wordpress and Safari

Hi guys,

I'm currently setting up a WordPress site for a friend and it works perfectly in IE, Firefox and Chrome as well as mobile browsers. However, when I visit it using Safari, I can visit each page once and then if I try to return to any page it tries to download the page as a .gz file rather than opening the page.

Can anyone explain why this is happening?

p.s. I'm aware there are some CSS issues to fix in safari as well.

p.s.s. Additional information, it's running with a CDN (Cloudflare) and using their shared SSL. I've tried disabling all plugins and reverting back to the standard theme and still have the issue. I've also tried turning off the SSL and reverting to normal http but the issue still persists.

Any help is much appreciated!

In case anyone comes across this, it was a line in the .htaccess file forcing wordpress to use https that was causing the problem.

There is something more going on with that site. It can not be viewed on Mac OS. I would review to see if you added any code to the site that might not be there. sorry, but I can not visit the site to help you.

Is that just using Safari though? When you say it can not be viewed what is it doing?

it is simply downloading a file. on all browsers.

Yea that's the same problem I'm having when I use Safari on the PC. However it works in Chrome, FireFox and IE in Windows 7, 10 and Ubuntu Linux. So it's something causing an issue with Apple products it seems. No clue what though...
