Hey everyone! A message from Support :)

Hello! Kara here, from the Treehouse Support Team!

We're looking to engage more with our students here on the forum, and to also get to know you as well. We'll be sending out messages like these a couple times a month with some fun 'get to know you' questions.

This week's question: During the free trial, was there anything you felt was missing or something that you would've liked to have seen? (with the exception of downloading videos, as that isn't an option at this time)

well i came here to learn java and android also data analysis but i was surprise with how many courses there are in the website

Hi Kara, Just as a curiosity. Have you all considered an 'auto-subscribe' for messages from support so that members get a notification for these types of forum style 'engagements'? Otherwise I can see these getting lost in the mix of all of the other forum questions as they come in...

I always thought that was what the "Featured" filter in the forum was for.

Steven, Yeah that’s more of a filtered view of all existing forum content. And sometimes this material doesn’t show up in the filtered view. Don’t know if it’s just not tagged appropriately or what. Anyway, I’m more thinking of something like what happens when new courses are made available and you automatically get notified. I think that would be helpful for these types of engagements so they don’t just get lost in the shuffle of the other content.

If I recall correctly, there was a little "figure out what track you should take quiz" that I found kind of lackluster. I would recommend creating more robust suggestions for where to get started that are encouraging and explain the reasoning behind Treehouse's content suggestions. This would be especially useful to new students who don't have a plan for how to approach their programming journey. Overall, though, the free trial was good enough to make me stay, so no complaining there!
