Hi community, can you guys tell me what I'm doing wrong with this problem? Thanks!

suggestinator.py
def suggest(product_idea):
    if product_idea !=3:
        raise ValueError
    return product_idea + "inator"

you made it not equal to 3. You need if len(product_idea) < 3

def suggest(product_idea):
    if len(product_idea) < 3:
        raise ValueError ("...")

    return product_idea + "inator"

As Sean illustrated, there are two issues:

  • you need to test the length of the string instead of the string itself
  • you should check for less than 3, instead of "not equal"
