WordPress Genesis Framework Foundations The Genesis Marketplace StudioPress Child Themes

Hi Jesse, as a Sass developer how would you go about approaching the Genesis theme library? As I was told none use Sass

I considered purchasing the 'all themes' deal earlier this year but found none were built in Sass so it seemed a bit moot to consider going further.

I do use Genesis framework however and found a great extremely stripped down child theme called 'Bones For Genesis'.

It would be nice sometimes though to have more theme decisions built in on some projects, which is why I'm wondering how easy it would be in reality to adapt themes directly from the library which are not using Sass.

Maybe you have some insights yourself or experiences form other Genesis creators?

Many thanks Sean

Hey Sean,

I was wondering the same thing. I've come across this course where he uses Sass with genesis. He uses genesis-sandbox as a child theme I believe ( I've put the link in for this as well).

I haven't done this course yet but contemplating it. Hope it steers you in the right direction mate. Treehouse are going to run a course on this but they haven't mentioned when.

Good luck Byron

I'm sorry for not seeing this sooner, but now there is another theme. Head over to Genesis Starter SASS theme by Matt Banks to reverse engineer his structure and setup.

I released this last week and we use Sass in the new course Genesis Theme Development and will in any future Genesis courses that deal with code.
