Why is it hard to find a hosting company the supports Ruby in a Shared environment? VPS can get expensive quick, and yeah get very little support other than your box is working fine.

29,193 PointsAs mentioned above, Heroku is awesome. You can also try out Digital Ocean which lets you do a 1-click Rails installation (that's about $5 a month)
