Python Object-Oriented Python (retired) Objects Create a Class with a Method

hours method

I don't know what's wrong with my code.

method.py
class Store:
  open = 9
  close = 10

def hours():
  return "We're open from {} to {}.".format(open, close)

You were close. Two things needed.

First, when writing your methods inside your classes take care to indent them so they are read within that class. As you have written it your function is outside of your class.

Second, when working with your object properties inside your methods you need to pass self (your object) in as a parameter and refer to self. when using properties inside that method for your object.

With these two things in mind, your code would look like this.

class Store:
  open = 9
  close = 10

  def hours(self):
    return "We're open from {} to {}.".format(self.open, self.close)
