Hover Effect not working for some reason.

I am working on my personal website , but for some reason my hover effect is not working. I don't know why is not working. Can anyone please take a look at my code on Codepen? This is the link and thanks. http://codepen.io/Layee/pen/qdZZoG

It looks like the hover background-color is the same as the nav background-color.

In your nav selector you have

background-color:#e53e2d;

But your hover has

nav a:hover { background-color:#e53e2d; }

I tried changing the background-color and it changed on hover.

Thanks, I figured it out.
