&:hover not working

I have gone back and watched the video again a couple of times now and I am still not sure where I am getting things wrong here. My code goes a little something like this:

p { a { color: red; &:hover { opacity: 0.5;

They want you to change the a tag selector, that selects direct a tag children of p tags
