How accessible is the Treehouse curriculum for blind people?

So I'm new to the coding world and I'm looking for a place to learn. I've heard some good things about team treehouse so I'm going to give the free trial a go. I was just wondering if any other blind folks have had success here, or if anyone knows if it's possible. Thanks!

Hi Cody, I'm sorry it's taken several days for anyone to answer your question. I can't answer as to how easy or difficult it might be for someone who is blind to use Treehouse. I think, depending on the course, it could be somewhat difficult since in some videos the Teacher shows some code or something else and doesn't fully describe what's happening. There are video transcripts though for the courses so maybe that could help? I guess it depends on a person's level of vision loss. You can also view videos full screen, and pause and rewind videos as needed.

There are other blind programmers out there, so they've had to learn somewhere, I've just personally not heard of any using Treehouse. BUT that's not to say it can't be done or that others haven't! We just might not be aware of the fact that there are other blind Treehouse students.

Not sure if it's any help but I found this thread on Stack Overflow about blind programmers. Maybe it can provide some tips. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4929941/website-for-the-blind?rq=1

Well I hope some of that helped! And I hope the lack of response to your question from the community hasn't stopped you from giving it a shot! I'd love to know how it goes and if you are successful in your endeavor to use Treehouse and learn to code! I personally love Treehouse, and there are other great online coding schools and tutorials, so I really hope things work out for you.
