How can I append the newParagraph to the content nav?

It tells me: ''There was an error with your code: TypeError: 'undefined' is not a function (evaluating ''div'.appendChild('newParagraph')')''.

app.js
const contentDiv = document.getElementById("content");
let newParagraph = document.createElement('p');
newParagraph.className = "panel";
div.appendChild('newParagraph');
index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
    <head>
        <title>DOM Manipulation</title>
    </head>
    <link rel="stylesheet" href="style.css" />
    <body>
        <div id="content">

        </div>
        <script src="app.js"></script>
    </body>
</html>

question - Append the newParagraph element to the content DIV element.

const contentDiv = document.getElementById("content");
let newParagraph = document.createElement('p');
newParagraph.className = "panel";
//div.appendChild('newParagraph');

//the way you have described, div.appendChild, the browser would look for an already declared variable.
//the question clearly states, content DIV element. you already have a variable corresponding to that.

//btw, newParagraph is a variable which contains value inside of it, when you surround, that with the quotes,
//variable newParagraph is of no use.
