How can I change the colour of the text I write inside of an input field?

Hi folks,

I am struggling to find the right selector to get the colour of the text a user types inside of input fields changed, if anyone knows would be great,

Something like:

input, 
select, --remove select and textarea if not needed
textarea{
    color: #ff0000;
}
