How can I keep Project and Palette windows both visible at the same time?

Should I use Docked Mode or vs Pinned Mode?

Using Split Mode will put the selected panel on the bottom half of that side. With the Pallet you can also use In Editor mode (which is the default when you first use Android Studio).
