How can I make the video player scroll bar disappear?

Im using Windows 8 and Chrome browser. When I watch a video the Video Control Bar (If thats what it calls) on the bottom of the video, that controls volume, speed ,etc stays up. It doesnt hide. In normal or full screen its still there.

I watch with captions and the scroll bar often blocks the words, and also any training happening on the bottom of the screen. Is there an easy way to force it disappear/hide after the video starts playing? I just closed Chrome and turned it back on to rewatch the video the video control bar still wont hide, it stays up the entire video. thanks

Contact the support at help@teamtreehouse.com. Meanwhile in fullscreen mode open the video options and select it the option to view controlls and click fullscreen on the native playbar.

Hi Marco,

I'm using Windows 8.1 and Chrome. Video controls sometimes stay persistent for me until I mouse over the video then mouse out (likely a mouseleave event trigger, to be technical). I do not know why. This is what I do to make the video control bar disappear.

I agree with Robert. If you move the cursor away from the controls and into the edge of the screen the video controls should disappear. If it's persistent try using another browser.

Thanks for the responses but I notice when I view videos on my iPad the video controls go away, but on Windows in Chrome it does not. I think this player just doesnt like Chrome

Its a bit of a pain because I like to view full screen and the instructor is typing things on the bottom of the video and the bar covers it. And if I do Closed Caption then I definitely cant see anything the instructor does.

On other learning websites the controller is on the very bottom not blocking the content, or it disappears.

Respectfully to Treehouse: The video player is a key part of your business so I hope you either add a button or something to click so the user can force the control away, or put the controller on the very bottom of the video so it doesnt cover the content. thanks!
