How can I upload my site that I've used jekyll and compass to build, the ftp way gives a github error

I am trying to deploy the compass/jekyll site that I created. Using ftp I uploaded the _site folder that jekyll created but whenever I look at my website it says that the github website or page cannot be found.

Can you tell us more about where you're hosting your site?

I want to upload it to my bluehost website if you go to jwinkelman.com you can see the github error I am getting but I don't know why. All I uploaded was the _site directory that Jekyll produced which should just be static HTML

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you, Jordan, but it looks like you got things figured out. Was it a DNS issue?
