JavaScript AJAX Basics (retiring) jQuery and AJAX The jQuery AJAX Method

How can I use $.ajax() method for putting in a page contents from different json file (with different url)?

for example I have: "data/one.json" "data/two.json"

1 Answer

Do you mean one ajax function that changes its URL dynamically? If so you could do something like.

function ajax(string) {
   $.ajax({
      url: string, // <-- this is the URL you pass in to the function
      method: "GET",
      dataType: "json",
      success: function(response){
         // do something here
      },
      error: function(){
          //report error here
      }
   });
}

then you call that function

   ajax('data/one.json');

or

   ajax('data/two.json');
