How do I add a favicon to my website?

How do I add a favicon to my website? I've heard that the image has to be uploaded to the site, which I'm not quite sure what they mean. Can someone give me some advice on how to set a favicon? Thank you for your time

hey Zach Perry , there's a blog post covering this topic here on treehouse, perhaps this helps you out ;)

Hi Zach,

You will need to upload a 16px x 16px .ico/png file to your image folder and reference it as follows:

<link href="favicon.ico" rel="shortcut icon">

Hope that helps

Hi Rich, just wondering, would you place this in the head part of the html file?

Hi Ruby,

Yes you would :)
