How do i add a __str__ method

Should i add the method on the parent class on the one inheriting. What is wrong with my code

    def __init__(self, pattern=None):
        self.pattern = pattern


class S(Letter):
    def __init__(self):
        pattern = ['.', '.', '.']
        super().__init__(pattern)

    def __str__(self):
        return self.pattern

The instructions say specifically "I want you to add a __str__ method to the Letter class".

They also say the method should use a loop to convert the pattern and not just return it directly.
