how do i append a hash to a value of a key, in another hash?

My code is the last line. Doesn't seem to work. trying to add the grocery_item hash to the VALUE of 'item' key.

grocery_list = { 'title' => 'Grocery List', 'items' => [] }
grocery_item = { 'title' => 'Bread', 'quantity' => 1 }
grocery_list['items'] = grocery_item

The value of the item key is an array, to add data to an array you can simply use the push method like this:

grocery_list['items'].push(grocery_item)
