how do i change the color of the background?

need to change the back ground to white

and where do i find the code for colors

hi wayne leong , it's already written in your code this line here

android:background="@android:color/white"

what is the difference if i do or do not add the word "@android:"...... will that make a difference?

if you want to know more about those colors its predefined on the your system , go to Design mode and check background property

if

sda so you can remove

@android:color/white

and put this Hex Color Codes
