So I'm really interested in learning how to create website where people are able to pay for things like watching a video, or buy something from a seller, or even an auction site. So treehouse is amazing but what can be frustrating is that if you have a specific project in mind, instead of being able to learn just the stuff you want to learn how to do you have to learn EVERYTHING, all the little steps in between even if they're unrelated to your project. I completely recognize that that is amazing for learning to program for a big company, but when you just want to create a specific project you have in mind, it gets really really frustrating.
So there's an alt crypto currency called gay coin, its intended to be used for lgbt related businesses. What I would like to do is create an auction site where people are able to pay for things using gay coin. How EXACTLY do I do that? I don't suppose someone can give me a list of exactly which lessons I need to complete in order to make it possible for people to buy and sell things over one of my websites?

James, I'm not sure Treehouse could create course content for all specific cases like yours--even if it wanted to. The idea is to learn key skills, not learn "everything", in fact. Also, you can learn what you want to--you don't have to follow a track.

It sounds like you're looking for very specific, complete instructions on how to Gaycoin. I'd start with Gaycoin itself, since this isn't a popular (or simple) thing. I don't think you're likely to find answers on the Treehouse forum, but who knows. Also, if you're not comfortable with integrating shopping cart technology already (using PHP or what have you), then you're in an especially difficult position. In that case, Google is your friend. You can also try the course that Joe mentioned above, but Paypal integration is not Gaycoin integration.

6,191 PointsIn the Build A Simple PHP Application course, there is a section on intergrating a site with PayPal. I know it is not the same as Gaycoin, but it might get you going in the right direction. Hope this helps.

7,369 PointsAre you new to programming ? if yes well the best way is to get started , everything will come with time .But , you need to learn from other sites too like youtube and because no site will teah you everything . Later one you will be more comfortable with the langauge and you will get more idea how to do all that stuff. Hope this helps.

7,369 Pointsand plus , you dont need to learn completely 100% of a programming language because i dont think its possibile. You will need to find ways and look up in google how do do certen things but you will have your skill to customise it etc.. Its like you cant be a Martial Art expert if you never practiced basics because the first blocks , the programming basics , are the foundation that will get you solid and then you can slowely upgrade them to next level and get better in it . If that make sense . So you should be able to do whatever you want avter learning the basics and then go on more advanced and later one do whatever you like .

1,675 PointsYou're right of course and I was just feeling frustrated and upset with myself that I haven't any job or way to make a living currently and I came across what I think could be a brilliant way to make money but I don't have the skills to make it happen. It can be pretty frustrating when you're trying to climb a mountain and after hours of tedious strenuous exercise, you look up to discover you're closer to where you started than you are to anywhere noteworthy along the path. Its very tempting to want to find short cuts when you're trying to convince yourself that its better to keep going than it is to simply give up.

7,369 PointsHumans are great! Humans have the ability to learn . We can learn basicaly anything . It will take a lot of hard work to achive your goal/vision, and alot of determination. Do every day at least 30minutes in your field . Everyone that are now in the top 10%, were at the bottom 10%. But it takes time. And you know what is the best? that the time will pass anyways , so if you take action , or not when 5 years are passed you can look back at what you did . 5 years re a lot to learn anything .
The idea dont come like that , you need to try and learn also what you could improve etc.. the best networking is , is social network beause people want to comunicate with eah other and that brings like facebook as on top of the websites . Or ask fm , ask anonymus question. How simple is that ? simple idea . Maybe their earn billions from it , but when you start with a website or whatever , you will start small and you may go over a million dollar ,pounds or whatever or not . Achivement is not set by money though , its what you can do and that stuff .
Just keep going and i have a suprize foryou! There are shortcuts! :D do you want to know the secret formula? Double your errors , we learn from errors so if you an double it or triple it you will get two or three times faster resoults . Of corse its not that simple thats why you need to be determinated and have passion on what your doing .
BDW you need to take rist. Not sure if thats info is correct but about 92% people? dont take risks.

1,675 PointsGay coin was less of the worry than just being able to create an ecommerce auction site. I should think that instead of making a new videos for every single thing someone wants to learn there could simply be additional tracks that worked like playlists, where they weren't popular enough to warrant videos made just for them but that by completing a specific selection of lessons made for other tracks you could gain all the skills you need to do that specific thing. These might even be user created lesson playlists and users that create particularly useful or interesting compilations could get votes and ranks and little digital trophies for who's the best. As Dale Carnegie says, the most influential emotion a human being has is the need to feel important.
