In Android Studio I managed to get Android log window with devices listed, but cannot get logcat window.

One way to restore the logcat window is to make sure that you click on the Android tab on the bottom left of your screen. You can also go to View->Tool Windows->Android or press the key combination Alt+6 (make sure cursor is not in terminal or this will not work). Once you know you have Android selected, look to the far right of the screen for a button to the right of the no filters drop down menu. Left-click that button and you should see logcat.
