Hi, maybe I missed something in the previous course,I just can't figure out why sometimes you need to add something to parent,and sometimes you don't. How do I know that I should add something to parent? Thanks!

So as in parent you mean a layout or just any view item?

10,142 PointsI am thinking you are talking about the parent attribute in the styles.xml file. That lets the project know that you want your style should inherit properties. I believe this an optional attribute.
