You need to have a good color scheme. A background image wouldn't hurt either. You can also try changing the boarder radius property in your css to make the the containers look slicker. You should look for some 3D versions of the social media buttons too. Put a small border around your links in your menu items and make them have rounded corners. Bring them closer together as well. You should keep your elements from running up against the walls like they are now. Overall your website needs to look more compact. Hope that helps.
