How do I program a checkmark after selecting the job-role as in the video?

Just build this awesome signup form, but with the checkmark after selecting a job-role would be nicer :)

If you're talking about the little check mark that is shown in the select list when the teacher re-opens the list, i think this is a browser feature, and the teacher seems to be on Chrome for MacOs.

The rendering of dropdown menus, checkboxes and radio buttons varies in looks between different browsers and operating systems. For instance, a dropdown menu like this, as well as date fields, are rendered like a "select wheel" on an iPhone. There's very little we can do to style elements like these, except creating our own in javascript/css.
