I am currently using a one month free trial on treehouse and enjoying these courses very much. I would like to purchase a monthly subscription using a coupon that I found on reddit but I couldn't find a way to redeem it in the user settings.

Contact support at help@teamtreehouse.com they will be able to handle such things. Keep in mind that here in the US it is a holiday week so the response time may be longer than normal.
