How do I set up auto fill for for attributes or color preview?

How can I set up the auto fill or color preview that I see being used in the tutorials? I am using Chrome for my browser but it hasn't been something I can use on Chrome or Edge. What is my next move to correct this?!

I believe all the tutorials are developed using Chrome. Can you show the specific code you are having trouble with?

Thank you for the response and I apologize for the late reply. I haven't written any code myself yet, I am still just going through tutorials and just want to make sure I can keep up. I have since gotten chrome and have gotten the results I think i was looking for! Thank you for the advice!
