how do i split in python

i am stuck on a challenge task and its been 2 hours but i can not move on. i know its easy but i just can't move. its saying create a variable with your full name then create another variable called name_list that shows the list of the full name and is split please help

greeting_list.py 
full_name = "rutendo goredema"
list("rutendo goredema")
name_list.split() = "rutendo goredema"

alternative method

import re

full_name = "rutendo goredema"
s = re.compile('\s')
name_list  = s.split(full_name)
