How do I type code when asking question?

So when I ask question at either here at TeamTreeHouse or at GitHub etc when I copy my code from my notepad it looks all broken up. How do I copy and paste my code when asking coding question?

You can preserve the appearance of your code by using Markdown formatting. Instructions can be found in the Markdown Cheatsheet pop-up below the "Add an Answer" area on each page. :arrow_heading_down:
