How do I use 'document.querySelectorAll' to show all of the list items in a <ul> with a specific id name

I'm having issues figuring out how to write the document.querySelectorAll statement to include all <li> items in the <ul> with the id 'rainbow'. An explanation on correct syntax would be helpful. Thanks

js/app.js
var listItems = document.querySelectorAll('li.rainbow');
var colors = ["#C2272D", "#F8931F", "#FFFF01", "#009245", "#0193D9", "#0C04ED", "#612F90"];

for(var i = 0; i < colors.length; i ++) {
  listItems[i].style.color = colors[i];
}
index.html
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
  <head>
    <title>Rainbow!</title>
  </head>
  <body>
    <ul id="rainbow">
      <li>This should be red</li>
      <li>This should be orange</li>
      <li>This should be yellow</li>
      <li>This should be green</li>
      <li>This should be blue</li>
      <li>This should be indigo</li>
      <li>This should be violet</li>
    </ul>
    <script src="js/app.js"></script>
  </body>
</html>

You want to grab all the list items('li') in the #rainbow ul. In your code you are grabbing an li with a rainbow class.

var listItems = document.querySelectorAll('li');

Or like this if there are other un-ordered lists you don't want changed.

var listItems = document.querySelectorAll("#rainbow > li");
