How do I use println function in Single-Page app builder? Trying to follow and View Controller is different than video.

I am following along in the iOS Development With Swift video series. We are building a basic Fun Facts App, but I'm having a little trouble. The teacher uses the Control key to drag the "button" that we created to the View Controller code area. For starters, in the video it just shows one option to choose for ViewController, but I've got either ViewController.h or ViewController.m. And neither let me use the println function after the IBAction code.
