How Do I Vectorize People, Places, and Things?

This is one of my favorite sections in the Adobe Illustrator Foundations section of the Web Design track. But I am kind of surprised that there aren't any lessons on how to create vector-people and vector-places. Here are some examples of what I am talking about when I use these terms (forgive me for not having the exact terminology to explain this. I am a newbie):

http://www.deviantart.com/art/Second-Vector-60693501 http://www.deviantart.com/art/neutral-vector-23894356 http://www.deviantart.com/art/A-Vector-s-Journey-59703541 http://www.deviantart.com/art/Queen-s-Oceania-54925014 http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs71/i/2011/020/5/4/vector_angelina_jolie_by_wendeesigner-d37o79u.jpg

These sorts of designs are so pervasive and so popular that I would think Treehouse would at least mention them in their tutorials on Adobe Illustrator.

In any case, for anyone who is reading this, can you recommend any sites that will teach me how to make this kind of art?

Thanks so much in advance.

Sincerely,

Todd

Hi Todd, this isn't something I've done before but I did find a free short course that might get you started on the right path. You have to create a tuts+ account but that particular course is free (they have some paid/subscription courses).
