How do profreelance developers in Css3 & HTML 5 handle graphics (arrows, pics)? Do you just go on ebay and by templates?

If a person is a professional freelancer where does he get the vivid, beautiful images he needs to do his job?

People want nice color matched websites. We need nice background images and small pics like arrows and everything in between. I understand that many pro developers aren't graphic designers.

I wish there was a developer specific course on this topic. When a small business walks up to you and says "i want a site with such and such look". If your not a designer what resources do you use and process to finish things up professionally?

Do you have a budget for these items or are you looking for Creative Commons items that can be used for commercial uses?

Great list! thank you :)

There's actually quite a number of sites one can go to for icons, web fonts, stock photos, etc. If you just do a search for "free icon fonts", "free stock photos", etc. you'll find a bunch of lists like these:

http://css-tricks.com/flat-icons-icon-fonts/ - this one has both free and paid

Hi Floyd. Are you asking about photographic images exclusively or are you asking about all of the different types of graphics, icons, typography, etc. that are typically found in most websites?

Yes Joseph,

Icons, different types of graphics, arrows, pictures of low saturation cell phones, and things of the like that you find on lots of start-up type websites. That's what i'm looking for sir.

Great question Joseph. Umm....my wallet is a little empty. I guess I'll go for creative commons that can be used for commercial uses.

Thanks Wayne . I appreciate your time it helps a lot.

As someone who took Mat Helme's excellent Photoshop and Illustrator courses but still feels quite inept with fiddly artsy things, thanks for asking this OP. My cheers to you goodsir.

When your wallet isn't so empty, you can also have a look at https://creativemarket.com/. I'm not good at design, but I've found lots of great graphics there for clients. Some are very affordable. Also, if you sign up for their newsletter, they give away free graphics (weekly I think).
